Turkish foreign minister says Turkey and Israel to appoint ambassadors in coming days

The statement is further evidence to the normalizing of Israel's relations with Turkey, which was severely damaged when in 2010, the Marmara flotilla left Turkey heading for Gaza, bringing on a violent clash between the flotilla's protestors and the IDF soldiers sent to halt its progress. The incident, which resulted in the deaths of several Turkish citizens, quickly escalated into extreme diplomatic animosity, with Turkey expelling the Israeli ambassador in response.

Earlier this year, a reconciliation agreement between the two countries had been reached. The agreement included a transfer of $20 million to Turkey and Turkey  withdrawing its demand for Israel to lift its blockade on Gaza.

So far, neither Israel nor Turkey has announced the identity of the new ambassadors.
