Indictment served in Jerusalem court against stabber

An indictment was filed in the Jerusalem District Court against Ahmed Asai'ir, 19, of Jerusalem in connection with the stabbing of an Orthodox youth near the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem.

According to the indictment, on August 11th, Asai'ir noticed a young ultra-Orthodox man walk out of a grocery store in A-Tur and decided to harass him. He picked up a sharp object found at the scene and stabbed the victim in his neck and upper back before fleeing.

The victim was taken to Hadassah Hospital at Mount Scopus in light to moderate condition. The prosecution seeks to detain the defendant until the legal proceedings against him can commence.
