US warship fires warning shots at Iranian boats
WASHINGTON- US officials say a US Navy ship has fired three warning shots toward an Iranian boat that was approaching another American ship head on in the North Arabian Gulf.
Wednesday's confrontation was an escalation of encounters in the region this week.
Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook says there were three incidents involving U.S. Navy ships and Iranian boats on Wednesday.
