COPENHAGEN- Police say they have shot and critically wounded an armed Danish man following an earlier Copenhagen shootout that left two officers and a bystander wounded.
Trouble started Wednesday night in Copenhagen's drug-rife Christiania neighborhood, where police say the assailant pulled a gun as officers tried to arrest him. They say he shot one officer in the head, a second in the thigh, and a bystander in the leg before escaping.
Police tracked him down several hours later 5 kilometers (3 miles) to the south in Kastrup near the airport and shot him early Thursday. He was hospitalized in critical condition.
