Emergency teams rush following rock avalanche in Dead Sea cave, no one known to be injured or trapped

A rock avalanche near the Dead Sea caused the Lot Wife's cave to collapse Saturday.

Members of what is presumably the last family to visit the cave reported that they had barely stepped into the cave before hearing the rumble of rocks and rushing out. They said they did not see any indication that another family was located deeper into the cave.

Presently, there are no known people injured or trapped in the cave or under the rubble. Nevertheless, rescue teams are on site to rule out this possibility.
