Turkey removes 28 municipal mayors over alleged Kurdish militant links

DIYARBAKIR -- Turkey has removed local mayors deemed to support Kurdish militants and appointed new administrators in more than two dozen municipalities mostly in the largely Kurdish southeast, a provincial governor's office said on Sunday.
All but four of the municipalities were run by the pro-Kurdish opposition Peoples Democratic Party (HDP), the Diyarbakir governor's office said.
