One person injured in attempted attack on Israeli embassy in Turkey

Turkish media is reporting that there has been an attempted stabbing attack at the entrance of the Israeli embassy in Ankara; allegedly shouted 'Allahu Akbar' as he attacked guard.

A man was injured Wednesday as he was attempting to break into the Israeli Embassy to Turkey in Ankara, according to Turkish reports.The man, Osman Nuri Çalışkan, 41, was weilding a knife, and shouted "Allahu Akbar" as he was carrying out his attack.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry is reporting that the attacker was stopped before he could reach the Israeli Embassy. Foreign Ministry officials are reporting that all embassy staff are safe and accounted for.

The man also yelled that he was doing it to "stop the bloodshed in the Middle East."
CNN Turk is also reporting that there is a suspicious package near the embassy which is being examined.
Çalışkan was attempting to infiltrate the Israeli Embassy in Ankara to carry out a stabbing attack, but was shot in the leg by local security forces before he could get into the embassy, becoming lightly wounding in the process. He attempted to stab one of the security guards at the embassy, and was neutralized.
Ankara officials meanwhile say that Çalışkan is mentally unstable. They also claim that he has no links to terrorist organizations.
