Minister Deri visits Peres' bedside
Minister of the Interior visited former Israeli president Shimon Peres on Tuesday evening, later telling the press, "the Rabbi of the Western Wall and I visited Shimon Peres in his room, and read Psalms verses (praying for) the former president's recovery. Chazal (Jewish sages of the Mishna, Tosefta and Talmud eras. -ed) say that even as a sword is placed on a man's neck, he should not despair of mercy."
"We continue to pray and hope, and along with this, we have heard of his harsh condition," Deri added, "As someone who's known Shimon for thirty years now, it's difficult to see him quiet. We are used to seeing him energized. We wish him and the family good news."
