Japanese scientist wins Nobel medicine prize
STOCKHOLM (AP) - Japanese scientist Yoshinori Ohsumi has been awarded this year's Nobel Prize in medicine for discovering the mechanisms of autophagy.
The Karolinska Institute said autophagy is a "fundamental process for degrading and recycling cellular components."
