Hasidic rabbi beaten in Ukraine, in very serious condition

Rabbi Mendel Deitsch, an Israeli citizen and member of the Chabad Hasidic movement, was severely beaten and injured during a robbery attempt in the Ukrainian city of Zhytomyr.

Rabbi Deitsch has been hospitalized and taken in for surgery. Further details of the event are not yet known, as the local police investigates the case.
