Additional funds approved for defense budget
The transfer of an additional NIS 2 billion to the defense budget was approved Tuesday by members of the Joint Committee with the possibility of an additional transfer of NIS 3 billion; The approval of the additional transfer brings the total defense budget to roughly NIS 59 billion.

The overall defense budget stands at NIS 56.1 billion, but retains the contingency for an additional NIS 3 billion subject to various conditions.
MKs Yoav Kish, Avi Dichter, Anat Berko and Erel Margalit confirmed the transfer of the additional funds Tuesday. The committee members presented the new budget before the rest of the Knesset, including details on where the additional funds would be allocated. An additional transfer of NIS 3 billion is expected later this year, which will bring the defense budget to NIS 59 billion.
