Israeli hiker missing in Nepal

An Israeli rescue team prepared to fly out to the Annapurna mountain range in Nepal on Thursday, in an effort to find Amit Reichman, an Israeli who has been missing since Sunday.

The Israeli Embassy in Nepal and the local Chabad house in the city of Kathmandu have already begun questioning Israelis who might have run into him over the last few days.

Reichman is a philosopher and engineer. According to initial reports, he had reached a lookout point on Annapurna on October 16 and left some of his climbing gear there, but at present has yet to return for it.
