Sandstorms and rain

Floods and sandstorms during Israel's first rains

As the first rains begin to hit Israel, flash flooding and sandstorms are reported in the south of the country; residents should expect more scattered thunderstorms Friday, but a clear and cool Saturday.

The Israel Water Authority has announced that they are expecting flash flooding as a result of the first rains in Israel on Thursday night and Friday morning.

The floods are expected to primarily affect the Arava and area south of the Dead Sea.
