Minister Deri to resign Knesset seat, keep ministerial position
Minister of the Interior and of the Development of the Negev and Galilee Aryeh Deri, leader of the Shas party, has decided to resign his Knesset seat, but keep his government minister position.
Deri's move is not unusual for ministers, who often resign from the Knesset so that another party member may get their seat in the Israeli parliament, while the party maintains its strength inside the government.
