Supreme Court rejects Rabbi Pinto's early release
The Supreme Court rejected on Thursday Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto's request to appeal a district court's decision not to grant him early release from prison.
Pinto is serving a year in prison after having been convicted of bribery and obstructive of justice as part of a plea deal.
In September, the parole board decided to shorten Pinto's sentence, but the State Attorney's Office appealed the decision. The district court decided to rule in favor of the state, keeping Pinto in prison to serve out his sentence.
