East Jerusalem woman who blew up gas canister wounding cop gets 11 years in prison
A female terrorist convicted of blowing up a gas canister and wounding a police officer was sentenced to 11 years in prison on Monday.
The Jerusalem District Court also ordered the 31-year-old resident of Jabel Mukaber to pay the wounded police officer NIS 20,000 in compensation.
The woman pleaded guilty and was convicted of attempted aggravated sabotage as part of a plea deal.
The prosecution sought a 14-year sentence, while the defense asked the court for leniency over her familial situation and the personal circumstances that led her to carry out the attack.
