MK calls on PM to cancel mix gender prayer at Western Wall

Chairman of the Knesset Interior Committee MK David Amsalem (Likud) called on the prime minister to cancel the decision to allocate an area for mixed gender prayer at the Western Wall.
The Reform and Conservative movements of Judaism have called for a mixed prayer area at the Western Wall.
MK Amsalem says that the status quo of separation of worshippers must continue, even if that means coming into conflict with world Judaism, as the issue will only cause more tension between secular and Orthodox Israelis.
"It's not the end of the world if American Jews get offended," he said.
