IDF postpones controversial chief rabbi's inauguration ceremony

The IDF Spokersperson's Unit issued a statement on Monday, saying that the inauguration ceremony for the new IDF chief rabbi has been postponed, due to the High Court's investigation into past, controversial statements made by Col. and Rabbi Eyal Karim.

Among his other comments, Karim has gone on record to say that he considers gays "sick" and that soldiers are allowed to rape gentile women during times of war.

The IDF Spoksperson's Unit added that Karim will offer a prepared statement, explaining his inflammatory comments to the High Court, despite right-wing repesentatives who urged him not to do so.
