Arrests extended of four arson suspects

Arrests have been extended until Thursday of four individuals suspected of involvement of in starting a brush fire on Sunday next to the Arab town of Kafr Yasif.
The decision to extend the suspects’ arrests, all of whom are from the Arab town of Jadeidi-Makr, was taken by the Magistrate’s Court in Acre. Two other minors suspected of involvement are also expected to have their arrests extended shortly. The suspects deny all charges leveled against them and have argued that no flammable material was found on them.
“The investigation material put before the court is ambivalent at this stage,” the court judge said. “I am finding no sign of nationalistic motivations of the suspects and it could simply be that this was a prank."
