PM on ISIS strike: 'We responded forcefully and exacted a very quick and painful price'
The prime minister referred to an incident in the Golan Heights in which the IDF responded to shooting by hitting an ISIS-affiliated target; 'We won't let radical Islam or any extreme entity open a new front against us in the Golan Heights,' says Netanyahu.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on Monday before the Likud faction in regard to the IDF's strike against ISIS targets in the Syrian south Golan Heights, in response to shooting at a unit belonging to the Golani Brigade. "Over the last few days, there have been attempts to attack our forces on the triple border. We responded forcefully and exacted a very quick and painful price from our enemies. We continue to monitor and follow up on the policy I set forth. We don't allow drips, but respond forcefully if need be and attack our enemies. We won't let radical Islam or any extreme entity open a new front against us in the Golan Heights."
Netanyahu also responded to the wave of fire. "I think the volunteer work done by Jews and Arabs alike is very important. It's a model of good citizenship." He added that "We already know that some of the fires were the result of arson."
Lieberman added that "The State of Israel is not looking for adventures, but as is the case with every provocation, wherever it may come from—Lebanon or Syria—we will respond with great force as we did the last time."
