Russia: Space cargo ship malfunctions, crashes in Siberia

MOSCOW -- An unmanned Russian cargo space ship broke up in the atmosphere and crashed over Siberia on Thursday en route to the International Space Station due to an unspecified malfunction, the Russian space agency said.

Roscosmos said in a statement that the Progress MS-04 cargo craft broke up at an altitude of 190 kilometers over the remote Russian Tuva region in Siberia that borders Mongolia. Most of space ship's debris burnt up as it entered the atmosphere before crashing over what the space agency said was an uninhabited area.
