UK foreign minister: Brexit to enable free trade deals with Gulf
MANAMA- Britain's departure from the European Union will mean it can forge free trade deals with Gulf Arab countries, foreign minister Boris Johnson said on Friday.
Speaking in Bahrain at the Manama Dialogue conference on Middle East security, he said: "Now is the time for my country to seize the opportunity of leaving the EU.
"We will be there to work for European peace and stability. We'll still be there to stick up for our friends and partners in the Gulf... (where) for the first time since the 1970s we will additionally be able to do free trade deals."
