10-year-old boy injured when falling off a cliff declared dead; his organs will be donated

Ilai Nir, the 10-year-old boy who was critically injured when he fell from a cliff at the Tze'elim Stream on Friday, passed away on Sunday at the Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva.
His father, Dr. Omri Nir, tried to save him when he held his son to his body as the pair fell, absorbing most of the impact. Dr. Nir was immediately killed.
Doctors declared Ilai dead after his situation worsened further on Sunday. His family gave its consent to donate Ilai's organs.
