Deri asks PM to demand emergency UN Security Council meeting on Syria
Interior Minister Aryeh Deri (Shas) asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday morning to demand an emergency session of the UN Security Council in light of the increasing slaughter of civilians in Syria, particularly in Aleppo.
"Six million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust and the world was silent," Deri said. "We as Jews must not be silent in the face of the horrors happening for almost six years in Syria."
"The increase in acts of slaughter in Aleppo and the murder of infants, children, women and elderly people obligates us as Jews, a nation that had known a horrible Holocaust and awful acts of slaughter, to cry out," he continued.
