BEIRUT -- The leader of Lebanon's Hezbollah movement, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, said on Friday the fall of Aleppo to Syrian government control had opened up a new stage in the conflict and could pave the way to a political solution.
"In the upcoming period it is necessary to focus on reinforcing the city of Aleppo and securing it," he said, speaking in a televised live address.
Hezbollah troops are fighting alongside Syrian government forces against rebels opposed to President Bashar al-Assad's rule, and against Islamic State in Syria.
