'Facebook Law' passes Ministerial Committee for Legislation reading
The ‘Facebook Law’ spearheaded by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked (Bayit Yehudi) and Public Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud) passed its reading in the Ministerial Committee for Legislation on Sunday.
According to the proposed legislation, the Administrative Court would be authorized, at the request of the state, to issue orders to a internet provider sites such as Facebook or Google to remove incitement content from their servers.
Decrees can be issued in cases involving posts which constitute criminal activity or when there is plausible risks to the security of a person, to public safety or the state.
