Man killed in crash on way to own surprise party

A motorcycle rider was driving with a friend from Elad to a party in Tel Aviv when the motorcycle slipped, hitting a car; the party they were travelling to - the driver's own surprise birthday party.

Two people were killed in a crash early Sunday morning on route 4 at Bar Ilan Interchange.

The two were riding on a motorcycle when it slipped and slammed into another car. Paramedics treated the two on the scene, and evacuated them to Sheba Medical center, where they were pronounced dead.

The riders – recently discharged soldier Nirel Cohen, 22, and his friend, Yossi Mizrahi, 19, who was still in active duty – were going from their hometown of to a party in Tel Aviv.
The party was a surprise party for Nirel's 22nd birthday.
Six people have died on Israeli roads in 2017 so far.
