Supporters of Meretz and the Zionist Union organized the protest, which saw participants march from Kaplan Street to Rabin Square.
"The Netanyahu government is destroying everything good here—the corruption and the detachment from the people are breaking records; the racism and incitement is out of control; extremist bills and nationalism are dragging Israel to dangerous isolation," said organizers.
Knesset members from the Zionist Union and Meretz also participated, including Amir Peretz.
Chairman of the youth wing of the Labor Party, Yael Sinai, one of the organizers of the protest, said, "We went out into the street to protest one of the biggest instances of corruption in Israel—the Prime Minister planning what is going to happen in this country with the owners of newspapers. We are not going to shut up. We are ashamed of our government and the people of Israel don't deserve a corrupt government that only cares about certain sectors."
