13 Hamas activists arrested in overnight sweep
In addition to nabbing 13 Hamas activists in the West Bank who sought to strengthen the organization’s grip in the area, IDF and Shin Bet confiscate thousands of shekels and Hamas propaganda material.
The Shin Bet and the IDF arrested 13 Hamas activists in the West Bank overnight Sunday, including a member of the Hamas Palestinian Legislative Council.
During the operation, security forces found and confiscated thousands of shekels, a vehicle and Hamas propaganda material.
In recent weeks, the Shin Bet exposed, also together with the IDF, a widescale Hamas infrastructure operating in Ramallah and the Binyamin region in which the headquarters of the organization were discovered.

The headquarters, consisting of an eight-tier hierarchy made up of dozens of activists, worked to strengthen Hamas’s grip in the West Bank as an organization and influential element throughout the area.
Among a range of activities, the Hamas headquarters operated through social and economic channels and provided economic support to prisoners, families of terrorists and Hamas student cells.
Moreover, the headquarters disseminated Hamas propaganda material and sponsored rallies.
They were were continuously financed, according to the Shin bet, by Hamas officials abroad and in the Gaza Strip.
