Coming soon: direct flights from Tel Aviv to Reykjavik

The Icelandic airline WOW air has submitted a request to begin operating flights between Tel Aviv and the the Icelandic capital, Reykjavik
The company plans to begin flight operations this June and the airline has request the approval of slots which will facilitate six weekly flights between the two countries.

The new flights are intended to exploit the open skies policy and offer passengers flights from Israel to destinations including Canada and the US.
In addition, Tus Airways announced that it was opening direct flight lanes between Haifa and Athens, Rhodes and the Greek island of Kos.
These three destinations will be added to already-existing flights from Haifa to Larnaca and Paphos in Cyprus and flights offered by the airline from Ben Gurion Airport to Larnaca.

In total, by summer 2017, more than 100 flights are set to begin operating between five destinations and Haifa Airport.
Additionally, the company also intends to augment its flight options from Haifa to various destinations in Europe via Cyprus at competitive prices.
The route from Haifa to Athens will be opened in March and will offer two weekly flights on Sunday and Thursday.
