An official in the Palestinian security institutions told Ynet that according to their data, Hamas's military wing managed to get their people into the secret election for the Hamas leadership, but did not the majority vote.
This stands in contrast to the report by Asharq Al-Awsat newpaper, which stated that the military wing won majority vote over the political wing.
The secret election for the leadership of Hamas's institutes and leadership are expected to end in the first quarter of 2017.
