Herzog: ‘Netanyahu avoided appointing a permanent Communications Minister by misusing the law’

Head of the opposition and chairman of the Zionist Union party MK Isaac Herzog has sent a letter to the High Court insisting that it hold the debate on his demand that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu resign from his position as Minister of Communications, despite the government’s request to cancel it.

Herzog claimed that Netanyahu left the Communications Minister’s position after misusing an incorrect section in the law, one that affects all ministers save the Prime Minister.

Herzog added that it enabled Netanyahu to avoid appointing a permanent Communications Minister and thereby evading a direct deliberation on his resignation from the position.
