Trump bars New York Times, CNN, Politico from entering White House briefing

US President Donald Trump is continuing his battle with the media by banning news outlets the New York Times, CNN and news site Politico from taking part in a White House briefing with Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

In a show of solidarity, the barred journalists' stunned colleagues from Time and the Associated Press decided to stay out of the briefing, as well.

Trump has repeatedly called out CNN and the New York Times by named, accusing them of being "fake news" and of spreading lies aimed to discredit him.
