UNRWA suspended Union Chairman after he was elected to Hamas leadership
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) as decided to suspend Union Chairman Suheil Ahmad Hassan al-Hindi, after he was accused of being elected for Hamas leadership.
The suspension will be lifted once the agency's internal investigation will conclude.
On Friday, a senior Hamas official denied that Hindi was elected to a leadership position in Hamas. Hamas’s denial came a day after Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon tweeted that Hindi was elected to the Hamas leadership.
