Court to discuss appeals against PMO hostile work conditions ruling

Hearing set to be held regarding PMO's appeal against a verdict awarding former caretaker NIS 170,000 in damages for hostile work conditions; PM’s wife to request to appeal against caretaker’s Naftali's claims of her excessive drinking: 'A person of Sara Netanyahu’s weight cannot drink three bottles of champagne a day.'

The National Labor Court is set to discuss Tuesday the state's appeal against a regional labor court verdict, which ordered that the state pay NIS 170,000 in damages to the former chief caretaker of the PM's residence, Meni Naftali for the treatment he received from Prime Minister Netanyahu's wife Sara.

In addition to the state's appeal, Sara Netanyahu also filed an appeal against the conclusions against her personally.

The National Court denied Mrs. Netanyahu's request to appeal the determinations on the basis that she was not a party to the lawsuit. (The suit was filed against the PMO). However, she filed an appeal against the national court decision.

In the appeal, which will also be discussed on Tuesday, Mrs. Netanyahu addressed Naftali's claims pertaining to her alleged drinking habits.

Indeed, Naftali said: "I didn't know that she drinks a crazy amount of alcohol. When I got inside the house I was shocked to see how much she drinks, like 3 bottles of champagne a day."

In hear appeal, Mrs. Netanyahu categorically denied Naftali's claims, with her lawyer Yossi Cohen saying "you shouldn't trust one word this person says. An average person, and certainly a person of the plaintiff's weight, cannot drink three bottles of champagne a day, especially if he works as an expert psychologist in the public service and has many tasks as part of his position."
