Following the live broadcast on her Facebook feed, Shaffir spoke before the Knesset, saying, "We won't let you hide what the Finance Committee is doing from the people."
It was then that MK Oren Hazan (Likud) shouted, "I'm just asking, if I were to speak wearing a tank top, no one would say anything to me?"
MK Nava Boker, who chaired the Finance Committee meeting, also chimed in, saying, "You're right. I think it is a lack of respect for the Knesset. Unfortunately, these are rules that probably can't be enforced on parliamentarians."
After Shaffir walked away from the podium, a Shas MK approached Shaffir and said, "It is inappropriate to dress like that. Very immodest."
Later in the day Monday, Shaffir posted a picture of herself on Twitter with the dress she wore, saying, "In honor of Women's Day, two MKs scolded me for wearing a dress with uncovered shoulders. Happy holiday to everyone."
Hazan responded to the incident, saying, "Cheap provocations from radical left-wing Knesset members like Shaffir, who do anything for publicity, drag the Knesset down. Her cheap and lying behavior says more about her than anything else that can be said."
