BEIRUT -- A US Navy ship changed course in the Hormuz Strait on Saturday towards Iranian Revolutionary Guard vessels, a guards commander was quoted as saying on Tuesday while issuing a warning.
"The unprofessional actions of the Americans can have irreversible consequences," Mehdi Hashemi was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency.
A US official told Reuters on Monday that multiple fast-attack vessels from the Revolutionary Guard had come within 600 yards (550 meters) of the USNS Invincible, a tracking ship, forcing it to change direction.
