IAF aircraft attack Hamas training facility and other terror target in the northern Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire directed at Israeli communities Wednesday night.

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) attacked two Hamas targets in the northern Gaza Strip early Thursday morning in response to a rocket attack Wednesday, which fell in open territory within the Sdot Negev Regional Council.

One of the targets destroyed was identified as a training facility in Deir al-Balah belonging to Hamas' Military Wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit issued a statement saying, "IAF aircraft attacked and destroyed two terrorist infrastructure sites in the northern Gaza Strip belonging to the Hamas terror organization. The attack was conducted in response to a high-trajectory weapon fired at Israeli communities in the area. The IDF sees the Hamas terrorist organization as being solely responsible for what occurs in the Gaza Strip."

The Code Red siren was not activated during Wednesday's attack as the projectile was tracked heading into open territory.
