State of Texas and Samaria Regional Council ink agriculture agreement

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is in Israel touring Samaria as his home state signs a cooperation agreement on agriculture and water technology with the local government.

The State of Texas and the Samaria Regional Council signed a cooperation agreement Wednesday to share information and expertise on agriculture and water technology.

Head of the Samaria Regional Council Yossi Dagan said, "This is a significant move that sends an unequivocal message to those attempting to boycott Israel. The signing of this agreement and the meeting with President Trump's special envoy (Jason) Greenblatt shows that everyone is a part of this new breeze blowing from the US."

Minister of Public Security, Gilad Erdan, took part in the ceremony and said, "Bringing delegations of influential people from Texas to tour the country will contribute to fighting the boycott campaign against Israel.

"I thank the State of Texas for its steadfast support of Israel and for promoting legislation against BDS. I believe that legislation is an effective took in fighting the de-legitimization campaign against Israel."

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller toured Samaria Thursday, where he met with farmers and other agriculture experts.

Miller, who supported President Trump's campaign, said, "Israel suffered during the years President Obama was President. President Trump is bringing a new spirit and as far as we're concerned, the signing of this agreement with Samaria is the starting point of long-term cooperation."
