Arab League to adopt the 2002 Saudi peace initiative

The Arab League is expected to adopt the 2002 Saudi peace initiative, which calls for the establishment of a Palestinian state in the 1967 borders, the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat reported on Monday.

The proposal, according to the paper, will oppose an Israeli annexation of east Jerusalem and moving the US embassy to the capital.

A spokesman of the Jordanian government was quoted by Arab media as saying that King Abdullah will travel to Washington after the Arab League Summit to update US President Donald Trump on the decisions made.
