Rabbi Berland released from prison to house arrest

Rabbi Berland, a leader of one of the main factions of the Breslov Hasidism who was convicted of two counts of indecent assault and one count of assault and sentenced to 18 months in prison, has been released from prison.
The Israel Prison Authority parole board has agreed to a request from Berland’s attorneys to release him to house arrest in order for him to receive medical treatment.
