Lead for 'yes' in Turkish referendum narrows as count nears end

Turkey's state news agency says the lead for the "yes" side in the country's referendum on expanding the president's powers has narrowed to 4 points with 94 percent counted. Results carried by Turkey's state-run Anadolu news agency show the "yes" votes were leading with nearly 52 percent in Sunday's referendum.
If the "yes" vote prevails in Sunday's historic referendum, the 18 constitutional changes will replace Turkey's parliamentary system of government with a presidential one. The changes include abolishing the office of the prime minister and granting sweeping executive powers to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Opponents fear the changes will lead to autocratic one-man rule by Erdoğan.
