Israel police fired the Special Patrol Unit (SPU) officer who was recorded beating a Palestinian civilian in Jerusalem last month.
On April 3, a hearing was held regarding the allegations against the policeman, during which he admitted to and regrets his wrongdoings, apologized and requested to be allowed to resign from the police force.
After his statements were thoroughly considered, the head of the police's human resource unit made up her mind not to allow him to resign due to the severity of his transgressions, deciding to fire him instead.
