Finance Ministry, Histadrut trying to reach compromise to prevent Tuesday strike

The Finance Ministry and the Histadrut Labor Federation held talks on Monday in an effort to reach a compromise that would prevent the strike set for Tuesday, treasury sources said.

The Histadrut declared the strike in protest of the terms of employment in the Israel Broadcasting Authority and the new Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation.

The offered compromise will see 170 IBA employees receiving compensation, while some will be hired by government ministries and see a raise to their pensions.
