Saudi official calls settlements 'illegal' and 'obstacle to peace'

Saudi Culture and Media Minister Awad Al-Awad called on Israel to stop construction in the settlements, which he called "illegal," and even claimed that they constitute an obstacle to peace.

 Al-Awad said this at the end of the weekly cabinet meeting and called on Israel to withdraw "from all the occupied Arab territories."

The Palestinian presidential office welcomed the minister's remarks.
