Counter-Terrorism Bureau emphasizes travel warnings to Tunisia

Terrorist elements, with an emphasis on global jihad elements, continue to make attempts at carrying out attacks against a variety of targets in Tunisia. In view of this, and in anticipation of the Lag BaOmer festivities that are expected to take place on the island of Djerba (May 14-15), there is a fear of attacks, even against Jewish targets.

In view of the severity of the threat, the recommendation to Israelis is to refrain from visiting the country and for those already in the country, to leave immediately.
