The higher temperatures on Wednesday caused several fires to break out in different areas of Israel.
A fire that broke out near moshav Bitha and moshav Ranen in the northern Negev region prompted police to close parts of routes 241 and 232. The Israel Railways also stopped train movement in the Netivot and Ofakim area for a short time after fire spread close to the tracks. Six firefighting teams and four air tankers are working to gain control of the fire.
A brush fire also broke out near Givat Ronen and Har Brakha in the Samaria region of the West Bank. Several residents were evacuated from their homes due to the thick smoke. Firefighting teams were able to gain control of the fire. Some damage was caused to several caravans.
