Gordon beach closed after sewage discharge

Gordon Beach in Tel Aviv was closed until further notice because of a sewage discharge into the sea.
The announcement was made Thursday morning by the Interior Ministry, which adopted the recommendation of the Health Ministry.
Gordon is a main Tel Aviv beaches that is frequented daily by many.
The Avivim Corporation reported to the Ministry of Health about a malfunction in the pumping station north of the Dolphinarium, which resulted in the discharge of sewage into the sea.
A similar incident occurred last summer as well and beaches were closed for several days until the beach and sea were treated for sewage.
