IDF soldier suspected of hoarding weapons in his home
Detectives search the home of a 19-year-old soldier from Ashdod and find weapons, including pipe bombs, explosives and bullets; the soldier is arrested.
A 19-year-old soldier from Ashdod was arrested on suspicion of possessing weapons in his home on Thursday.
Detectives arrived at the home of the young man, a soldier in active duty, and found various weapons. Among other things, pipe bombs were found ready to be assembled, standard explosives and bullets hidden in a bag of the snack food Bamba.

The suspect was arrested and taken for questioning by the police. On Friday, his remand was extended. Police officers from the bomb disposal unit neutralized the explosives.
The police said that "possession and use of such weapons endangers the public. We will continue with extensive activity to locate weapons illegally held with the intention of protecting the public and bringing the perpetrators to justice."
