Man shot dead in Tirat Carmel after stabbing police officers

Two police officers were responding to a call at the man's home when he attacked them with a knife, moderately wounding one and lightly wounding the other; the incident was criminal in nature.

One of the police officers, 46, was in moderate condition after having been stabbed in his waist. The other officer, 20, was in light condition after having been stabbed in his back.
Police said the incident was criminal in nature.
The Police Investigation Unit is expected to probe the incident, as it does any time a police officer uses his firearm.
